I’ve been in 2 minds whether to post this, but felt I needed to. The guy at the front of this photo is my brother. He is a dog handler for Avon & Somerset police and has had the hardest week of his career. Last Sunday on the frontline of a riot in Bristol having fireworks thrown at him and his colleagues, another protest on College Green on Monday evening, last night another protest that turned nasty, and he has been called in to work today as there is yet another protest planned. People might say this is what he gets paid for, and yes, I agree to some extent, but when we are in a pandemic, what gives people the right to put other peoples lives in danger  what gives people the right to put other peoples lives in danger just because they want to cause trouble? I agree, people have the right to protest, this started off peacefully but ended in thuggery and ignorance by a small minority. I am so proud of my brother and his police dog Ike, and would like to thank him and all of his colleagues for the work they have put in to defending our city and the people who live in it, thank you.
